Lonnie practices in the area of corporate finance and securities law, assisting issuers and their boards and board committees, underwriters and investors with public and private financings, restructurings and reorganizations, corporate governance matters, merger and acquisition transactions, obtaining stock exchange listings and in going public via initial public offering and reverse take-over. Lonnie also serves as a director or officer of a number of public and private corporations.
Prior to entering private law practice in 1997, Lonnie gained considerable securities regulatory experience at both The Toronto Stock Exchange and the Ontario Securities Commission. During 1996 and 1997 Lonnie was the Senior Manager, Company Listings at The Toronto Stock Exchange where he headed-up the group responsible for all new listing, suspension and delisting activity on the Exchange. In 1995 Lonnie was seconded from the TSX to the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission for a 9 month term where he worked as a solicitor conducting prospectus reviews and assisting in the OSC’s policy reformulation project. Lonnie also spent 6 years in the role of Manager of Listed Company Regulation at the TSX with responsibility for the ongoing review and regulation of listed company corporate finance and M&A transactions.
Lonnie recently served as a member of the Securities Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission.
Lonnie received his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1987.
